TASK TA 1.2 NEURO-SYMBOLIC SAFE LEARNING PHASE 1: SYMBOLIC METHODS SUCH AS COMPUTATION OF HAMILTON JACOBI SAFE SETS WILL BE AUGMENTED WITH NEURAL NETWORK TECHNIQUES FOR SPEEDING UP COMPUTATION AND THE RESULTING NEURO-SYMBOLIC SAFE SET CALCULATIONS WILL BE USED FOR EXPLICABLE SAFE LEARNING DESIGN TOOLS AND ALGORITHMS (DES AND ALG). PHASE 2: SAFE LEARNING ALGORITHMS WILL BE MADE ROBUST TO ADVERSARIAL ATTACK (WP, ALG). CURRENT GAN ATTACK MODELS ARE NOT ADEQUATE FOR ADDRESSING DISTRIBUTIONAL SHIFTS (ADVERSARIES CHANGING BEHAVIOR). TOOLS FOR MULTI-AGENT SYSTEMS WILL BE HIGHLIGHTED. PHASE 3: NEURO-SYMBOLIC SAFE LEARNING HAS TO BE KEPT FRESH, EVEN WHEN LEARNING HAS SLOWED DOWN. SAFE ALGORITHMS HAVE TO BE KEPT FROM GOING €œSTALE€Ͽ½ AND NEED TO BE RESET IF NO NEW DATA IS AVAILABLE TASK TA 1.6 COMPOSITIONAL NEURO-SYMBOLIC CONTROL AND LEARNING PHASE 1: WE WILL DEVELOP TOOLS FOR ASSESSING THE CONFIDENCE IN THE AGGREGATE MODELS BASED ON THE RICHNESS OF THEIR TRAINING DATA. USE OF NN (DEEP LEARNING TOOLS) AS COMPUTATIONAL AIDS FOR HIGH DIMENSIONAL SYMBOLIC DESIGNS (SOFT). PHASE 2: PROBABILISTIC HYBRID VERIFICATION TOOLS FOR ANSR SYSTEMS, WITH THE USE OF NN FOR SCALABILITY OF THE ASSURANCE ALGORITHMS. PHASE 3: SCALABLE ALGORITHMS FOR PROBABILISTIC MODEL CHECKING (SOFT) IN THE FACE OF UNCERTAINTIES, INCLUDING REAL-TIME ADAPTATION OF SAFETY ASSURANCES. TASK TA 2.2 VERIFICATION OF NEURO-SYMBOLIC SYSTEMS. PHASE 1: DEVELOPMENT OF SIMULATION-BASED VERIFICATION TOOLS (VERIFAI) AND THE LEVEL SET TOOLBOX WITH ADVANCES IN MULTI-OBJECTIVE FALSIFICATION AND SCALABILITY (SOFT). PHASE 2: BASED ON FEEDBACK BY THE USERS OF THE TA 1 TOOLS AND THE TA 2 DESIGN FLOW WE WILL MODIFY THE ALGORITHMS AND TOOLS TO PROVIDE BETTER EXPERIMENTAL OUTCOMES. ESPECIALLY FEATURED IN PHASE II WILL BE THE USE OF THE TOOLS ON MULTI-AGENT SYSTEMS. INCORPORATION OF PRIOR KNOWLEDGE, TRANSFER LEARNING FROM ONE DOMAIN TO THE OTHER WILL BE HIGHLIGHTED. SURVEILLANCE AND COMBAT ENTERPRISES DEMAND HIGH AVAILABILITY AND DEPENDABILITY, AND RAPID AND ACCURATE ASSESSMENT OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. THESE ENTERPRISES TYPICALLY ENCOMPASS INPUTS FROM MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE DATA FROM GROUND, AIR, AND SPACE SENSORS, HIGH-PERFORMANCE DATA PROCESSING UNITS, AND CUSTOMIZED DATA PRODUCTS FOR ANALYSTS AND WARFIGHTERS. RAPIDLY CHANGING INTELLIGENCE AND COMBAT SITUATIONS NECESSITATE RAPID TASKING, COLLECTION, PROCESSING, EXPLOITATION, AND DISSEMINATION OF INTELLIGENCE. DELAYS CAUSED BY COMPONENT AND INTERFACE OUTAGES RISK THE LOSS OF TARGET CUSTODY, MISSED CHANGES IN GROUND SITUATIONS, INCORRECT ASSESSMENT OF GROUND TRUTH, AND POTENTIAL HARM TO WARFIGHTERS AND THEIR EQUIPMENT. TO ADDRESS THE ABOVE CHALLENGES, WE PROPOSE DEVELOPING A STRUCTURED PROCESS FOR SPECIFYING REQUIREMENTS AND VALIDATION SCENARIOS FOR CRITICAL, HIGHLY DEPENDABLE ENTERPRISES.
