Description
Source: SAM.gov Contract Opportunities public data file
USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service is part of a science-based national system to ensure food safety and food defense. FSIS ensures food safety through the authorities of the Federal Meat Inspection Act, the Poultry Products Inspection Act, and the Egg Products Inspection Act, as well as humane animal handling through the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act. As such this RFI seeks to gather information on commercially available STEC colony isolation procedures that increase the likelihood of identifying and isolating a variety of STEC in raw beef or other food products, regardless of serogroup, from a mixed population. FSIS seeks to understand the level of granularity in STEC confirmation protocols, including selective media that do not rely on STEC serogroup. Please review the attached documents for more information.
